Miles for Smiles

Run for Ukrainian children

Miles for Smiles

This spring, prepare to give a smile to a Ukrainian child.

Did you know?
Many Ukrainian children get an unhealthy start in life. Due to poverty, unemployment, alcoholism and drug use, they often are abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Of Ukraine's nine million children, some 100,000 live in state-run children's institutions, such as orphanages, boarding schools and shelters. Children living in these types of institutions lack food, medical care, suitable facilities and education.

Furthermore, only 21% of children living in rural areas have access to proper education. As they grow into adolescents, they often fall prey to drugs, alcohol and unprotected sex. As a result, Ukraine is currently the country worst affected by HIV/AIDS in Europe.*

Our solution is the Miles for Smiles challenge.

In order to support the TOUCH (Take One Ukraine Child’s Hand) project, from 01 April, 2011, let us join together and run 100,000 km.

More information on the challenge will be available on 01 April, 2011.
